What Really Motivates You? And Do You Really Need It?
What really motivates you? It is a very simple question but in some respects as difficult as asking "what is the meaning of life". For me many answers come to mind ... children, family, money, charity. However, if this is true then why do so many of us fail at achieving our dreams?
I think the main problem is that we say these things motivate us but without really believing it. You see these are the things that others say should motivate us, but obviously they don't. If these things did truly motivate us there would not be such a gap between the rich and poor. I mean seriously only 7% of the worlds population is super wealthy and the rest of us are stuck struggling to figure out how they did it.
We read books about them and how they gained success. Basically our buying makes them even wealthier while the rest of us get poorer buy purchasing these books. Made you think didn't I? So now you might think I am telling you to right a book about motivation and gaining success. Um, no unless of course you want to, many have made fortunes doing just this.
What I am telling you is that you need to stop reading about other peoples success and start achieving yours. Yes I know easier said than do, or is it really? I would like you to test yourself find something anything really and apply yourself whole hardheartedly to it for 4 days. 4 days? Yes, 4 days, why because most people give up after 3 days of doing anything so if you push yourself just one more day, it will make a huge difference.
Ok so you have pushed yourself whole hardheartedly for 4 days, now day 5 comes. What to do? Stop, reflect. Do you really enjoy what you have been doing for the past 4 days? or have you discovered your bored with it? If you discovered your bored or just don't like it find something else to commit to for 4 days. If you have decided you love it, commit yourself for another 4 days and continue to do so until you attain the success you've always dreamed of.
Stop worrying about motivation and others and start doing. It is the only real way to succeed then you can sit back and enjoy the things you are told should be motivators such as your children, family, money and have time for your charitable work. They are more than motivators they are your life so enjoy them, while doing what you love.
